Nate Ball is the CEO of Atlas Devices, a Massachusetts company he co-founded while at MIT to build advanced combat search and rescue equipment for the US Army. Two decades on, Atlas products and services have revolutionized tactical access, rescue, and specialized climbing capabilities in the US DoD and abroad. Nate’s professional career includes numerous design awards and product recognitions ranging from defense related hardware to novel space suit designs in use by NASA for crew training. Nate is also a noted children’s book author, public speaker and TV presenter, having hosted the Emmy and Peabody award winning PBS Kids engineering show Design Squad since its inception, and loves the challenge of trying to keep up with his wife and two boys whether on the climbing wall, riding dirt jumps, or in the workshop.
