Sophia Mathias-Simpson is a defense acquisition and combat development professional with over 15 years of experience delivering capability to Special Operations, the Army, and the broader defense community.
Previously, Sophia served as Assistant Program Manager for JPEO JPM CBRN SOF, driving SOF-specific capabilities from requirement to fielding. Her portfolio includes work at JPEO-CBRND, Tier 1 SOF units, PEO Soldier, and joint acquisition efforts supporting national-level mission sets. She has shaped requirements, led development, and rapidly delivered fielded equipment—bringing perspective from every layer by working closely with end users, managing programs, and guiding acquisition decisions to drive future capability.
She lives in North Carolina with her family and is closely tied to the defense, military, and mom communities. With both work and home rooted in military life, these worlds naturally overlap—and they inform each other every day. That connection gives her a grounded, real-world perspective and shapes how she shows up: focused, adaptable, and outcome-driven.
