WHO WE ARE

PROVEN ROBOTICS. BUILT FOR THE REAL WORLD.

Safety & Human Performance

Deep technology expertise in robotics, perception, mechanical, electrical, and artificial intelligence applied within grueling environments from sports field to battlefield.

Mission

Our mission is to improve safety and human performance through applied robotics in the world’s most demanding environments.

Vision

Advance robotics and autonomy that reduce human exposure, extend operational reach, and expand mission capability across defense, training, and commercial applications.

Intent

Design and deliver rugged, adaptable robotic systems trusted by operators to perform when and where they matter most.

HOW IT STARTED

MVP began as a collaboration between Dartmouth head football coach Buddy Teevens and a group of engineers and athletes from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering. Together, they developed the world’s first robotic tackling dummy to reduce unnecessary injuries suffered in training. MVP robotic tackling dummies are used widely across the NFL, Collegiate and High School teams. Use of MVP dummies has been shown to result in a 58% reduction in concussions compared to full-contact training.

In response to DoD requirements for dynamic live fire training systems, MVP began development of their live fire training target - HEKTR, leveraging technology developed for the tackling dummies. HEKTR has been used in training by all major DoD branches, as well as international SOF allies, OGA shooters and civilian courses.

BUDDY TEEVENS

1956-2023

Buddy was truly a visionary who saw the world not just as it was, but as what it could be. Buddy's people-first values coupled with a fervent drive to improve the status quo, forged the flame of innovation that launched us as a company.

As a coach, Buddy maintained a unique awareness of the bigger picture; he was just as laser-focused on the future of football and his players' lives off the field, as he was on drills and scoreboards. He was a force of nature who has left  a lasting impact on many lies. We feel truly honored to have shared the time that we did with Buddy, and will carry the torch forward in his honor.

JOHN CURRIER

1957-2021

Always radiating positivity, John Currier was known for his dedication to his research and compassion for those around him. He worked as a research engineer at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth for over 40 years, and had a profound impact on his engineering students and colleagues at work.

John specialized in orthopedics, and collaborated with his

classmate Buddy Teevens to bring the Mobile Virtual Player to life. For those of us who worked with John, he was more than a colleague; he was a beloved friend. We will carry the torch forward in his honor.
